Yes, my actual name is Lauren (I've been told it's not the most Indonesian-sounding name, but I swear it's my real name!).
I am a 25-year-old native Indonesian. Back in high school, I was lucky enough to land an opportunity to study abroad in the US as part of Rotary International's Student Exchange Program, during which I lived in Menomonie, WI, USA, for a year and discovered that I had a knack for picking up new languages! And so when I graduated high school, I decided to pursue a degree in English Literature, and as of now, I'm a junior member of Indonesia's Translator Association (Himpunan Penerjemah Indonesia) and have spent the past couple of years paving a career as a simultaneous and consecutive interpreter for various seminars, workshops, meetings, and webinars.
Given my passion for language learning, I started Indonesian with Lauren back in September 2022 on Instagram and TikTok, and to my pleasant surprise, the reception has been overwhelmingly heartwarming!
I eventually tried my hand at teaching on the side and discovered that there was indeed a demand for an Indonesian course. So I decided to develop this Beginner MasterCourse, which contains more than 70 video lessons that should help you master the language in an easy, fun, and intuitive way.

Since English and Indonesian are distinct languages, I will predominantly use English throughout most of the course. This approach facilitates better comprehension of key concepts, smoothing the path to grasping Indonesian effortlessly. Your journey into Indonesian will be more seamless and comprehensible with this method.
No prior knowledge of Indonesian is necessary. This course is specifically designed for beginners (A1), meaning we will begin from the fundamentals. Nevertheless, the course is equally well-suited for those who have progressed to an advanced beginner level (A2). As you engage with the lessons, you'll notice a gradual increase in complexity.
