HALO, I'M LAUREN
Yes, my actual name is Lauren (I've been told it's not the most Indonesian-sounding name, but I swear it's my real name!).
I am a 25-year-old native Indonesian. Back in high school, I was lucky enough to land an opportunity to study abroad in the US as part of Rotary International's Student Exchange Program, during which I lived in Menomonie, WI, USA, for a year, and discovered that I had a knack for picking up new languages! And so when I graduated high school, I decided to pursue a degree in English Literature, and as of now, I'm a junior member of Indonesia's Translator Association (Himpunan Penerjemah Indonesia) and have spent the past couple years paving a career as a simultaneous and consecutive interpreter for various seminars, workshops, meetings, and webinars.
Given my passion for language learning, I started Indonesian with Lauren back in September 2022 on Instagram and TikTok, and to my pleasant surprise, the reception has been overwhelmingly heartwarming!
I eventually tried my hand at teaching on the side, and discovered that there was indeed a demand for an Indonesian course. No prior knowledge of Indonesian is necessary. This course is specifically designed for beginners (A1), which means we will begin from the very fundamentals. Nevertheless, the course is equally well-suited for those who have progressed to an advanced beginner level (A2). As you engage with the lessons, you'll notice a gradual increase in complexity up to the B2 level.
