HALO, I'M LAUREN
Yes, my actual name is Lauren (I've been told it's not the most Indonesian-sounding name, but I swear it's my real name!).
I am a 25-year-old native Indonesian. Back in high school, I was lucky enough to land an opportunity to study abroad in the US as part of Rotary International's Student Exchange Program, during which I lived in Menomonie, WI, USA, for a year, and discovered that I had a knack for picking up new languages! And so when I graduated high school, I decided to pursue a degree in English Literature, and as of now, I'm a junior member of Indonesia's Translator Association (Himpunan Penerjemah Indonesia) and have spent the past couple years paving a career as a simultaneous and consecutive interpreter for various seminars, workshops, meetings, and webinars.
Given my passion for language learning, I started Indonesian with Lauren back in September 2022 on Instagram and TikTok, and to my pleasant surprise, the reception has been overwhelmingly heartwarming!
